Directions to the Horace Mann School Campus

The 18 acre Horace Mann Upper, Middle and Lower Divisions campus overlooks Van Cortlandt Park in the Fieldston-Riverdale section of the Bronx. 

Limited visitor parking is available. Horace Mann Security will provide parking instructions on campus.

Getting to Horace Mann School by Subway

Take the Broadway #1 train to Van Cortlandt Park and 242nd Street (last stop). Exit to Broadway and proceed north to street just before Burger King (Manhattan College Parkway). Make left and then an immediate right. Notice hill (Post Road leading to 246th Street). 

Middle/Upper Division:
The Middle and Upper Division campus is at top of hill on your right. Turn right at the iron gates into the parking circle. The Middle and Upper Division Admissions Office is directly in front of you. 

Lower Division:
Walk up hill to Tibbett Avenue. Make a left onto Tibbett Avenue. The Lower Division entrance is the fifth driveway on the left, 4440 Tibbett Avenue (between #12 and #13 on the map).

Getting to Horace Mann School by Car

From West Side of Manhattan: Take the West Side Highway north. Pay toll crossing Henry Hudson Bridge. Continue on Henry Hudson Parkway to 246th Street exit. Turn right at light. Continue on 246th Street for approximately five blocks.  Middle/Upper Division: Cross Tibbett Avenue. The Middle and Upper Division campus is on your left. Continue to the first left (through the iron gates) into the parking circle. The Middle and Upper Division Admissions Office is directly in front of you.  Lower Division: Turn right onto Tibbett Avenue. The Lower Division entrance is the fifth driveway on the left, 4440 Tibbett Avenue (between #12 and #13 on the map). 

From Westchester: Take the Cross County Parkway to the Saw Mill River Parkway South. Exit at 246th Street. Turn left at light and continue for approximately five blocks.
 
Middle/Upper Division:
Cross Tibbett Avenue. The Middle and Upper Division campus is on your left. Continue to the first left (through the iron gates) into the parking circle. The Middle and Upper Division Admissions Office is directly in front of you. 



Lower Division:
Turn right onto Tibbett Avenue. The Lower Division entrance is the fifth driveway on the left, 4440 Tibbett Avenue (between #12 and #13 on the map). 

From Major Deegan (87) North or South:
Exit at Manhattan College and Van Cortlandt Park South. From either north or south turn right at end of ramp and proceed to Broadway and elevated train. Bear right onto Broadway and continue to end of elevated structure. Turn left at light before Burger King (Manhattan College Parkway). Take an immediate right and continue up hill behind Burger King (Post Road). Make left onto 246th Street. 

Middle/Upper Division:
The Middle and Upper Division campus is at top of hill on your right. Turn right (through the iron gates) into the parking circle. The Middle and Upper Division Admissions Office is directly in front of you. 

Lower Division:
Continue up hill to Tibbett Avenue. Make left onto Tibbett Avenue. The Lower Division entrance is the fifth driveway on the left, 4440 Tibbett Avenue (between #12 and #13 on the map).
